30th March 2023 - THANK YOU ROB! MIRA's longest-serving team member retires

Colleagues gathered to celebrate Rob Forbes, MIRA's (and HORIBA's) longest-serving team member who retires today (Friday, 31 March 2023)...

The event saw team members from across the business come together for a special lunchtime event held at the Control Centre. Speeches were given by Rob's manager, Paul Ingle, and also Pete Biggs, senior manager propulsion electromobility and ASSURED CAV, and Declan Allen, managing director.

In addition, a video message was shown at the event featuring Group Chairman and CEO Mr Horiba, Group COO Mr Saito, and President of the Automotive Segment Dr George Gillespie (right).

Rob's historic, and record-breaking, career began in October 1962. His support for the business has spanned six decades and almost everything MIRA does.

Declan Allen, said: "Rob's legacy is truly outstanding and something to be incredibly proud of. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude and admiration for six decades of tireless support to our team. Rob is a true gentleman and has shared his skills and knowledge with generations of our team. It is also wonderful to witness that our business can offer such a variety of interesting work to maintain the interest of such a skilled individual as we have benefitted from in Rob. We wish him a long and happy retirement."

His impact and influence spans our company history - not only in terms of his impressive technical achievements but equally in the way he has represented our values as a mentor, peer and friend to so many of our people past and present. Thank you Rob for all you have done for us."
