11th November 2024 - REMEMBRANCE 2024

Colleagues gathered, both online and at the Memorial Garden, to observe a moment of reflection and remembrance.

The event began with team members joining virtually, moments before the traditional two-minute silence. Simon Hall opened the ceremony with a poignant speech, followed by the laying of wreaths by Mark Hopkins (Manager – Facility Engineering), Tim Nathan (Chief Operating Officer), and Lisa Bingley (Operations Director, MIRA Technology Institute).

After the silence, Andy Hayto (Manager – Electrification & Battery Test ) performed the Last Post from the Memorial Garden, a moving tribute that resonated with all in attendance. The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt poem, beautifully read by Stephen Webber (Test Services Director).

Armistice Day marks the end of World War One, commemorating the ceasefire at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918. Today, it stands as a time to honour all those who have lost their lives in conflicts throughout history, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
