10th Sept 2024 - Passive Safety Centre Crash Facility

HORIBA MIRA formally opened its new Passive Safety Centre Crash Facility at the Nuneaton site.

The first facility of its kind in the UK, and a multi-million-pound investment, the launch event included live demonstration of a crash for the gathered audience of guests. A plaque was unveiled by Mr Juichi Saito, HORIBA executive vice president and group COO and Michiel Van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP.

Later in the day team members were also provided an introduction to the facility via a specially produced launch event to share the occasion with them.

Graeme Stewart, chief technical officer said,

"The opening of this upgraded crash test facility is not just opening a building or a celebration of what we have achieved so far - we are opening the door to a future where vehicles are safer, smarter, and more capable of protecting lives than ever before.  A future where HORIBA MIRA plays a crucial role in making those advancements in technology a reality.”
